What Mentorship at BrightWolves Looks Like: A Conversation on Growth, Guidance & Connection

What if mentorship wasn’t just about advice, but about real connection, and shared wins?

At BrightWolves, we believe that mentorship isn’t a formality. It’s a relationship that helps people grow faster, lead better, and feel like they’re never doing it alone.

That’s exactly what we explored in our first episode of The Mentor Files, a sit-down between Marie Palumbo, one of our new Business Analysts, and Peter-Jan Roose, her mentor and Partner & Director of the Sustainability Track at BrightWolves.

From First Project to Ongoing Partnership

Marie and Peter-Jan first worked together on a sustainability consulting project where they co-created a client playbook. From there, their mentorship started to take shape, built on trust, shared learning, and collaboration.

“I could see that you're super nice and protective towards your advisee.” - Marie

Mentorship at BrightWolves grows naturally from working closely together, solving problems, and making space for questions.

Starting Your Career in Consulting with the Right Support

Marie joined BrightWolves in March 2025. Like many new consultants, she entered a fast-paced environment with high expectations and plenty to learn. Having a mentor made those first months feel more manageable, and more meaningful.

“I’m definitely taking into account all the advice you’re giving me. For example, my presentation skills. I’m here today doing this interview (laughs)!” - Marie

At BrightWolves, mentorship means getting feedback in real time, not just during formal reviews. It’s about having someone in your corner as you build your skills and confidence.

 Building Confidence Not Just Competence

For Peter-Jan, being a mentor is about more than giving advice it’s about knowing when to challenge, when to support, and when to let someone take the lead.

“I think you deserve to be pushed even more.” - Peter-Jan

One moment that stood out for him was watching Marie present during a company-wide Den Meeting, a recurring internal meeting where team members share company updates, project insights and lessons learned.

You did a very good job. That was a proud moment for me.” - Peter-Jan
