Unless you’ve been living under a rock these past few years, you most likely noticed the alphabet soup coming from the European Institutions.
A lot has been written on EU legislative packages such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR). Most articles are as complex or even more ambiguous as the legislative packages themselves. It's not surprising that I continue to encounter company leaders who are unsure about whether they need to comply with these regulations or even aware of their existence.
To put it bluntly, it may seem simple and straightforward at first glance, but in reality, it's quite the opposite – unless you have a deep passion for deciphering extensive, convoluted legislations, can distinguish between laws and directives, and grasp the intricate workings of the European Union's processes.
