Backed by Astanor and BrightWolves, LiveCycle launches to deliver scalable, certifiable, and real-time sustainability solutions

Brussels, Belgium – 25 June 2025 — LiveCycle, the first spin-off from strategy and sustainability consultancy BrightWolves, has officially launched with over €1 million in funding provided by BrightWolves and leading global impact investor Astanor.
LiveCycle introduces a next-generation Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) platform that is set to transform how companies measure, manage, and act on their environmental footprint quickly, collaboratively, and at scale.
Born out of BrightWolves’ deep experience delivering LCAs for its clients, LiveCycle was developed in response to the shortcomings of existing tools.
"We had been using LCA software for years and realized the market was missing a solution that was fast, scalable, and easy to use while maintaining scientific rigor," said Peter-Jan Roose, Sustainability Director at BrightWolves. "Instead of waiting, we built it ourselves."
What began as an internal solution soon outgrew its in-house origins as client demand surged. The team took the leap to spin it off as an independent SaaS company and LiveCycle was born.
To lead this next chapter, Arne Bassez, a seasoned SaaS entrepreneur, joined as CEO, alongside Rafael Pinto, a veteran software architect who stepped in as CTO. Together, they evolved the platform from a consultancy tool into a market-ready solution with a modern, scalable architecture.

"The real power of LCA is that it cuts through greenwashing and sustainability dogma to provide a science-based, complete picture of a product’s environmental impact," said Bassez. "What excited me was not just the product, but the methodology and the vision to make LCA accessible, fast, and certifiable at scale."
LiveCycle’s platform is designed for automation, collaboration, and real-time updates. It helps companies generate certified LCAs in days instead of weeks and scale assessments across entire product portfolios.
"We keep your data alive," Bassez explained. "When something changes in your product, supply chain, or the market, LiveCycle flags it immediately, keeping your LCA data current and enabling 100% certified coverage across all SKUs."
Beyond reporting, LiveCycle empowers companies to integrate sustainability into everyday decision-making from R&D and procurement to supplier selection and go-to-market strategies.
The investment from Astanor is not just financial.
"At Astanor, we’ve always used LCAs as decision-critical tools, but we’ve struggled with outdated, static systems," said Leslie Kapin, Partner and Director of Impact at Astanor. "LiveCycle is the platform we’ve been waiting for. It makes LCA faster, smarter, and immediately actionable which is a game-changer for sustainability, strategy, and product teams alike."
Astanor’s backing brings global reach and sector expertise, further strengthening LiveCycle’s mission to make scalable, certifiable sustainability accessible to businesses of all sizes.
